The Cayuga Chimes is an intergenerational women's a cappella barbershop style chorus
from Ithaca, New York. Our director is Eric Bean. The Chimes were first organized
in 1977, and in 1986 we were named the "Official Voices of Ithaca." We have performed
in many locations on many occasions, from the New York State Fair to the Concord
Resort (for an Elks State Convention) to the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Montreal,
Canada.
We hold regular sing-outs at nursing homes and other senior citizen facilities, at
festivals and parades, and at weddings and other private parties, where we are met
with enthusiasm and appreciation. We present one show a year at a local theater.
In the summer of 1995 we recorded our first compact disc and tape, which are for
sale in local shops (listen to samples here).
